Chiefs' WR Sammy Watkins ponders his future and says he might sit out the 2020 season:https://t.co/yrbUx9QKuB— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 30, 2020
This might be a crazy thought, but maybe sitting out a year after winning the Super Bowl isn't in your best interests. Especially going into a contract year this seems bananas. I get it, football is grueling and can wear down any great athlete, but Watkins expects to come back after a potential year absence to a team where Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson are ready to breakout. Plus he would be going into the last year of his deal in 2020, he needs to prove that he was actually worth being a top 5 pick, not just a mound of potential.
Not to mention potential Olympian Tyreek Hill lurking around this team still...
Tyreek Hill eyes Olympics, but qualifying for U.S. trials is difficult enough https://t.co/5DcIr17bIR pic.twitter.com/eH82mDHnF4— NBC OlympicTalk (@NBCOlympicTalk) January 30, 2020
I would be ALL IN on watching Tyreek Hill compete in the Olympic Trials. Wouldn't it be crazy as hell if a former All-Pro receiver just waltzed into the USOC and just vaulted himself onto the US Olympic Team? Pun intended. If there's anyone in the NFL who could do it, Tyreek Hill is on the shortlist. He has always been one of the fastest in the game, so why not believe in him to fuck around and get at least the bronze medal in Tokyo this summer.Tyreek Hill says he wants to try out for the US Olympic team if he’s healthy after the Super Bowl.— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) January 30, 2020

Anyway, if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl and either of these things happens I'll be shocked but only able to call one of these guys smart at the end of the day.
